Benefit Dinner to Be Held on March 23 for Distant Man Battling Cancer

DISTANT, Pa. (EYT) – A benefit dinner and Chinese auction are being held on March 23 for a Distant man who is currently battling cancer.

Gary Mangiantini was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of throat cancer and is undergoing a series of very intense chemo and radiation treatments, leaving him unable to work during this period of time.

Gary is a father of four, with a fifth child due at the end of May.

To help his family with medical bills, as well as living expenses, a benefit dinner and Chinese auction will be held on Saturday, March 23.

The dinner will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Independent Baptist Church, located at 2238 Madison Road, in Distant.

The cost of the dinner will be $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for children ten and under.

The Chinese auction will be located directly across the road at the Distant Firehall.

The organizers are also in need of volunteers to help with the dinner, as well as donations to help with both the dinner and the Chinese auction.

Direct donations to the family are also welcome.
