Braden P. Shiock

Braden P. Shiock, 38, Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at West Penn Hospital.

He was born July 15, 1979, in Dubois, the son of Cyndie A. (Johnston) and William F. Shiock.

On May 24, 2008, he married Emily P. (Howell) Shiock, who survives.

Braden was a member of St. Adrian Roman Catholic Church and attended SS.C.D. Church with his family.

He worked for Penn Lines as a foreman doing Guiderail Construction.

He was a graduate of Punxsutawney High School and attended the Nursing Program at Indiana University of Pennsylvania for three years.

Braden was a big Pitt Football fan. He enjoyed hunting, going to the Harrold’s Camp, and skiing. He loved his kids and loved watching his daughter play sports, especially softball, and would do anything for them.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by two children, Madilynn and Rowan Shiock of Punxsutawney; a sister Brandie Hoban and husband Gavin of Punxsutawney; maternal grandparents Dr. Paul and Beverly Johnston of Punxsutawney; mother and father-in-law Cynthia Reeger and Edward Howell; five brothers-in-law’s; one sister-in-law; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Irene and Willie Shiock; and cousins Todd Covert and Leslie Osikowicz.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, October 20, 2017, at St. Cosmas and Damian Church with Monsignor Joseph Riccardo Officiating.

Interment will be in Adrian-Anita Roman Catholic Cemetery.
