Brookville Man Seriously Injured in SUV Accident

police-car-woodsELDRED TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — A Brookville man suffered serious injuries in a one-vehicle crash on Monday afternoon on Caldwell Corners Road, in Eldred Township, Jefferson County.

According to Marienville-based State Police, around 1:02 p.m. 75-year-old Richard P. Kolcun, of Brookville, was driving a 2004 GMC Sierra north on Caldwell Corners Road when he failed to negotiate a right turn.

The vehicle exited the roadway and collided with a tree.

Kolcun was trapped inside the Sierra before Sigel Volunteer Fire Department/EMS and Pinecreek Volunteer Fire Company extricated him.

Kolcun was treated at the scene by Jefferson County Emergency Services and then flown by STAT MedEvac helicopter to Altoona Regional Medical Center.

The Sierra was towed by McPherson Auto Body.
