Brookville Man Waives Preliminary Hearing on Meth Charges

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – A Brookville man waived his preliminary hearing on meth and related drug charges stemming from an undercover sting that occurred in October.

According to court documents, the following charges against 39-year-old Timothy J. Kramer, of Brookville, have been transferred to Jefferson County Court of Common Pleas:

– Criminal Attempt – Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
– Intentional Possession Controlled Substance By Person Not Registered, Misdemeanor
– Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor

He remains lodged in the Jefferson County Jail on $80,000.00 bail.

Jury selection is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on April 8, 2019, with President Judge John H. Foradora presiding.

Case details:

On October 28, 2018, around 8:05 p.m. Brookville Borough Police Officer Turnbull received a notification wave on an open source social media platform messenger from T.J. Kramer (known as Timothy Kramer). Kramer and the social media profile made small conversation for a period of time.

The social media profile (Officer Turnbull) asked if Kramer partied, and both parties began to talk about partying. (Partying is a commonly-used street term for the use of controlled substance.) Talk of partying continued into the day of October 29, 2018.

“Kramer reported he had ‘go go’ which is a common street term for methamphetamine,” according to the complaint.

The complaint states that “Kramer agreed to bring “go go” and exchange have fun with (the profile).” (Fun is a common street terminology for sexual intercourse.) (The profile) agreed that the two could use methamphetamine and then have fun.

A meeting location and an approximate time to meet the profile was set up.

Kramer allegedly agreed he was bringing methamphetamine with him for this meeting, the complaint indicates.

On October 30, Kramer passed Officer Turnbull’s stationary vehicle and traveled down Hasting Street, in Brookville Borough, Jefferson County. Kramer passed the meeting location. Kramer turned his vehicle around and came back to the meeting location, passing unmarked agents from the task force, according to the complaint.

Karmer was traffic stopped as “a high risk style stop,” the complaint states.

He was read his Miranda warnings, and he agreed to speak. He was also informed why the stop happened, and he denied knowledge of controlled substances.

Kramer agreed to a search of his vehicle after being informed that it would be searched on the probable cause that he informed the profile (Officer Turnbull) that he was bringing controlled substances, the complaint states.

Kramer’s wallet was searched and a baggie of what appeared to be methamphetamine was discovered.

Kramer was informed that he was being arrested for that and other controlled substances found in his vehicle that were not in a prescription container appropriate for the controlled substances.

The complaint states that Kramer did admit that there was a second bog of methamphetamine in the wallet after being informed of the search.

According to court documents, on March 16, 2015, Kramer was arrested for operating a methamphetamine lab following an undercover drug sting.
