Charles “Pete” W. Young

Charles “Pete” W. Young, 78, of Yale Road, DuBois, PA, died on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Penn Highlands DuBois.

Born on December 19, 1939, in Marion Center, PA, he was the son of the late William and Blanche (Roush) Young.

On July 2, 1964, he married Donna L. (Snyder) Young. She preceded him in death on February 10, 1997.

Pete retired as a diesel mechanic from Shaw Mack Inc. in DuBois, after 30 years of service.

He was active in the Boy Scouts of America for many years. He has been the scoutmaster or assistant scoutmaster of the Boy Scout Troup 36 of DuBois since 1978. He was also a vigil member of the Order of the Arrow. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.

Pete is survived by two sons, Doug W. Young and his wife Chris, and Dan A. Young both of DuBois, PA; two sisters, Dora Hudak and Crecia Huey; two brothers, Robert Young and Harold “Bruce” Young and his wife Peggy, all of Ohio; and two grandchildren, Adam and Megan Young.

He was preceded in death by one sister and five brothers.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at 1 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Pastor Harold Hills officiating.

Burial will be in Bundy Cemetery.

Memorials may be placed with the Bucktail Council, Boy Scouts of America, 209 First Street, DuBois, PA 15801.
