County Busy with Upcoming Public Events

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — The second public meeting for Jefferson County’s Comprehensive Plan Update will be held on Wednesday, September 27, at Jefferson Place in Brookville.

The meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m. in the second-floor conference room. The public is encouraged to attend and participate.

The County Planning Commission’s Plan Update will help determine a vision for the future and how that can happen.

Results from the County’s Community Survey will be reviewed, and there will be an update on strategies being developed for recreation, tourism, and community infrastructure improvements.

Also, at Tuesday’s commissioners’ meeting, two other important events were announced.

The regional Clearfield-Jefferson 2-1-1 kickoff will be held on September 26 at the Heritage House in Brookville.

Services include aging services, child and youth, counseling, education and training, food, shelter and clothing, health services, parenting, support groups, substance abuse, and more.

2-1-1 is an easy-to-remember phone number with texting capabilities. It also has an online site with a searchable database of agencies, programs, and resources which can be found at pa211nw.org.

Next month, the Jefferson County Development Council will host its fall luncheon on October 5 at Pinecrest Country Club. Cresco-Yeltran, the medical marijuana manufacturer, will be the featured presenter. More details will be released soon.
