DREW BEICHNER – SENIOR – CLARION-LIMESTONE

Son of: Matt and Loni Beichner
Sports Played: Football, basketball, baseball
Family Members Playing/Played Sports: Sister, Tori, is going to be in ninth grade at C-L and is playing volleyball. His grandpa, Lonnie, played sports as well as his uncle, Jeff.
2017-18 Highlights: He helped C-L finish fourth in District 9 while winning a quarterfinal playoff game against rival Clarion by knocking in the go-ahead run with a bunt. He had three RBIs and four runs scored on the season and also stole a pair of bases. He was also 1-1 on the mound with a 3.50 ERA. In 14 innings he struck out seven.
Post-High School Plans: He plans to attend Clarion University and major in accounting. He hopes to play baseball while he is at Clarion.

Q&A With Drew Beichner

D9Sports: What is your favorite sport to participate in and why?
DB: Baseball and it’s not even close.

D9Sports: What is your favorite memory, moment, game from playing high school sports?
DB: Beating Clarion in the playoffs for baseball and for basketball when I scored my first varsity point.

D9Sports: Why do you play high school sports?
DB: I love the feeling of being part of a team.

D9Sports: Who has had the most influence on your athletic career and why?
DB: Garrett Goheen because he was the one that influenced me into becoming the catcher I am today the most.

D9Sports: Do you remember the first sport you played and did you like it right away or did it grow on you?
DB: The first sport I played was baseball and I have loved the game ever since.

D9Sports: Do you have a favorite number for a uniform? If so, what is the story behind that number?
DB: No. 21 because it was the number I wore my 12-year old year of Little League when we won the championship.

D9Sports: What would someone who doesn’t know you be surprised to find out about you?
DB: I don’t like cheese unless it is on pizza.

D9Sports: If you could eat dinner with anyone famous (living or dead) who would it be and why?
DB: Derrick Rose because he has shown me to never give up when faced with adversity and to continue fighting till you reach the top.

D9Sports: Iphone or Android or Neither and why?
DB: iPhone because I feel like it is the more superior phone.

D9Sports: What is your go-to Social Media and why?
DB: Snapchat so I can talk to my friends.

D9Sports: What do you like most about high school and why?
DB: The relationships you form with people and the impact you have on each other’s lives.

D9Sports: What do you like least about high school and why?
DB: The homework because we get too much of it.

D9Sports: What question do you wish I would have asked you? And what is the answer to it?
DB: Who is my favorite baseball player? Luis Severino because he plays with such fire and a tenacity that is unmatched
