Edgewood Heights Celebrates 20 Years with Spaghetti Dinner on September 17

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Edgewood Heights personal care community on Keck Avenue in New Bethlehem recently celebrated its 20 year anniversary.

Festivities to honor the milestone will be held in conjunction with New Bethlehem’s upcoming Peanut Butter Festival this weekend.

Perched on a hillside overlooking the scenic beauty of Redbank Valley, Edgewood Heights is a beautiful, personal care community with the peacefulness of a rural setting, yet just moments from the shops and restaurants on Broad Street in New Bethlehem. There are accommodations for over 30 residents at Edgewood Heights in private, semi-private, and apartment suites. It has a family atmosphere with many community areas to socialize in or enjoy recreational activities together.

The care at Edgewood Heights is supervised by a nurse and is different than that provided at a nursing home. Residents are still fairly independent but may need some assistance with personal care, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Meals and snacks are provided, as well as recreational activities. Staff manages and administers medications. Staff indicates that they actually see many of their residents’ health and wellness improve after they move to Edgewood Heights. They flourish surrounded by the social support of new friends with recreational activities to enjoy, nutritious home-cooked meals, and the professional staff on hand 24 hours a day to help with personal care, manage their medications, and healthcare.

Kick the weekend off by visiting the Edgewood Heights table beside registration at the annual Peanut Butter Festival Wine Walk on Friday evening.

On Saturday, September 16, watch for the residents and staff of Edgewood Heights as they “cruise” down Broad Street in their Cadillacs.

On Sunday, September 17, the staff at Edgewood Heights invites the community to join them for a spaghetti dinner. Meals will include spaghetti, meatballs, bread, and cookies. The cost is $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children. Take-outs will be available.
