Fire Marshal Determines Hawthorn Fire Caused by Children Playing with Lighter

10496977_798145496885832_3776528200304283366_oHAWTHORN, Pa. (EYT) – Clarion-based State Police say the fire marshal investigated a blaze that occurred Friday morning in Hawthorn, Clarion County.

The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal and the Hawthorn Fire Department investigated the origin and cause of a fire that damaged a two-story residential dwelling at 4135 Brookville Street, Hawthorn, at 11:15 a.m. on April 21.

The fire originated in a bedroom on the second floor of the home.

According to police, the fire was caused by young children playing with a lighter.

Damage is estimated at $20,000.00.

There were no injuries.

The victim is Bryan G. Watkins of Hawthorn, Pa.

No other information was provided.
