Fire Marshal: Jefferson County Blaze Causes $100,000 in Damage

SYKESVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal Unit has determined the cause of a recent fire in Henderson Township, Jefferson County.

Trooper Kathleen Watters said the fire happened Jan. 11 around 5:00 p.m. at a residence along Dump Rock Road.

The fire originated in the home’s three-stall garage and spread to the attached house.

Trooper Watters said the fire was ruled accidental due to an electrical issue in the garage.

Damage is estimated at $100,000.

No injuries occurred.

The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal Unit was called to investigate the blaze by Sykesville Volunteer Fire Department Chief Kevin Yamerick.
