Icy Road Leads to Henderson Township Crash


HENDERSON TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Icy road conditions were to blame in an accident Friday afternoon in Henderson Township, Jefferson County.

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, an unidentified person was driving a 2001 GMC Sierra west on Pike Road around 4:08 p.m., Friday, February 9, when the vehicle hit an icy patch and slid off the roadway, traveling about 40 yards.

The driver’s side of the Sierra had minor damage after coming to a stop in the westbound lane facing east.

Police were assisted at the scene by the Big Run Volunteer Fire Department and Brosius Towing.
