Her presentation will take place from 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. and will be followed with a book-signing event in the building lobby. Her book will be available for purchase at the book-signing event.

Ward had written a series on the murder of Dr. Autumn Klein for her newspaper, then decided to write a book about it.

Ward joined the “Pittsburgh Post-Gazette” staff in 2003. Since that time, she has covered both federal and state courts, including the criminal trial of Jerry Sandusky, the former Penn State football coach charged with sexually abusing children; the death penalty trial of a man accused of killing three Pittsburgh police officers and the criminal trials of three sisters – a state senator, Supreme Court justice and her court administrator – accused of fraud and theft; as well as countless state and U.S. Supreme Court cases, including the issue of mandatory life sentences for juveniles.

Before moving to Pittsburgh, Ward worked in Savannah, Ga., and Pottsville. She is a 1996 graduate of IUP and has a master’s degree in criminal justice from Armstrong-Atlantic University.
