BROCKWAY, Pa. (EYT) – A Brockway man is facing felony charges for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor.
According to court documents, the Brockway Borough Police Department filed criminal charges against 20-year-old Jacob Cole Spanggaard, of Brockway.
The charges stem from alleged sexual assaults that occurred in Brockway Borough between the dates of May 1, 2015 and July 31, 2015.
According to a criminal complaint, on January 16, 2018, Chief Terry Young, of the Brockway Borough Police Department, interviewed a known female at the station. The female stated that she was sexually assaulted by Jacob (aka Jake) Spanggaard when she was 13-years-old.
On January 18, Chief Young interviewed Spanggaard at the station. Spanggaard allegedly stated that he and the victim engaged in sexual acts in 2015, and he was 18-years-old at the time, according to the complaint.
Spanggaard was arraigned at 10:30 a.m. on February 12 at Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana’s office on the following charges:
– Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, Person Less Than 16 Yrs Age, Felony 1 (five counts)
– Statutory Sexual Assault: 4-8 Years Older, Felony 2
– Aggravated Indecent Assault – Complainant Less Than 16, Felony 2
– Indecent Assault Person Less 16 Yrs Age, Misdemeanor 2 (five counts)
– Corruption Of Minors – Defendant Age 18 or Above, Felony 3 (five counts)
Spanggaard is free on $50,000.00 unsecured bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on February 22 with Judge Inzana presiding.
