Jefferson Co. Man Flown to UPMC Altoona After Motorcycle Slams into Utility Pole

PINE CREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Jefferson County man was flown to UPMC Altoona after his motorcycle slid along U.S. Route 322 and crashed into a utility pole.

Punxsutawney-based State Police Tpr. Green said the accident happened around 3:15 p.m. when Corey Williams, 32, of Reynoldsville, attempted to pass a vehicle while traveling west on U.S. Route 322.

Williams’ Kawasaki Ninja lost traction after striking the rear of a vehicle operated by Shannon Jewell, 35, of New Derry.

The bike slid down the roadway in the left lane, on its right side, and eventually struck a utility pole before coming to a final rest just off the roadway.

Williams suffered unknown injuries and was flown to UPMC Altoona by medical helicopter. His current condition is unknown.

Jewell suffered minor injuries and refused treatment.

Her vehicle sustained minor damage.

Williams was issued a traffic citation.

Pine Creek Volunteer Fire Department and Brookville EMS assisted at the scene.
