REYNOLDSVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – A Jefferson County man is facing burglary and terroristic threats charges after allegedly threatening to kill a victim, pushing his mother into a gun cabinet, and then stealing a rifle.
According to court documents, DuBois-based State Police filed the following criminal charges against 24-year-old Charles James Marshall, of Reynoldsville, on April 11:
– Burglary – Overnight Accommodations; Person Present, Bodily Injury Crime, Felony 1
– Theft By Unlawful Taking-Movable Property, Felony 2
– Terroristic Threats W/Intent To Terrorize Another. Misdemeanor 1
– Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary
– Criminal Mischief-Damage Property, Summary
The charges stem from a domestic disturbance that occurred on April 4 around 4:50 p.m. at a residence on Worth Street in Reynoldsville Borough.
Trooper Gould, of DuBois-based State Police, was assigned to investigate an active domestic physical altercation located at a residence on Worth Street, in Reynoldsville Borough, Jefferson County.
According to a criminal complaint, upon arriving at the scene, Trooper Gould observed Charles Marshall outside the residence, while the victim remained inside the house.
The victim stated that Marshall forced his way into the residence by pushing open the door and pushing the victim out of the way. The victim said Marshall almost pushed him completely over.
The victim has no trespassing signs posted on the property.
When the victim told Marshall he was not permitted in the residence, Marshall said to the victim: “I’m going to kill you.”
Marshall then tried to access a rifle that was securely locked inside a gun cabinet. Marshall’s mother attempted to stop him, and he pushed her into the gun cabinet causing the glass on the door to break. Marshall then took the gun from the cabinet and attempted to leave the residence, according to the complaint.
Marshall was arraigned at 9:55 p.m. on April 10 in Magisterial District Judge Douglas Robert Chambers’s office.
Unable to post $60,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on April 24 in front of Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana.
