Jefferson County Man Injured in Route 119 Crash

NORTH MAHONING TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Jefferson County man was injured in a one-vehicle crash that occurred on Thursday afternoon on State Route 119, in North Mahoning Township.

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, the accident happened around 2:01 p.m. on Thursday, February 7, as 50-year-old Douglas E. Scott, of Punxsutawney, was traveling northbound on Route 119, in North Mahoning Township, Indiana County.

Scott’s 2015 Chevrolet Silverado was coming out of a left curve onto a straight stretch, and he failed to adjust his path. As a result, the vehicle crossed over the fog line and onto the northbound shoulder of Route 119. It continued along the embankment of Route 119 and struck a posted “curve” sign on the driver’s side.

The driver’s side window was down, and the vehicle’s mirror struck the left side of Scott’s face, causing the glass to break. Police say he suffered minor injuries.

He was using a seat belt.

Scott was charged with a traffic violation.
