Jefferson County Students Participate in Regional Safe Driving Competition

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – Thirty-three students from eleven schools in Jefferson and Clarion Counties competed in a safe driving competition this week.

Students had to maneuver a car through a driving course and take a written exam and a perceptual test.

Jefferson County Sheriff Carl Gotwald and Clarion County Sheriff Rex Munsee helped the IUP Institute for Rural Health and Safety organize the event. Dave Jones, from Allstate, awarded scholarships for the top three individuals.

Students from Brookville Area School District and Brockway Area School District competed in the competition.

Brockway Area High School student Alan Weible won the third-place individual award of $250.00.

Keystone High School took first place overall in the competition.
