Jefferson County Woman Flown to UPMC Altoona Following Two-Vehicle Crash

WASHINGTON TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Reynoldsville woman was flown to UPMC Altoona following a two-vehicle crash in Washington Township late Monday morning.

According to police, around 11:31 a.m. on Monday, July 9, Sandra L. Laney, 58, was operating a 2014 GM Acadia, traveling north, stopped at a stop sign on Pardus Road.

At the same time, Holly L. Plummer, 53, of Reynoldsville was operating a John Deere XUV855D, traveling east on Hormtown Road.

Police say Laney entered from Pardus Road onto Hormtown Road in front of Plummer’s vehicle, and Plummer’s vehicle struck the left side of Laney’s vehicle.

Laney’s vehicle came to final rest facing north partially on Hormtown Road/Cherry Drive, and Plummer’s vehicle came to final rest facing north on Hormtown Road.

Plummer was flown by STAT MedEvac to UPMC Altoona for treatment of her injuries.

Laney and her passenger, Clara M. Cressley, 82, of Punxsutawney, were both wearing seatbelts. Laney suffered suspected minor injuries but was not transported. Cressley was not injured.

Laney’s vehicle sustained moderate left side damage and was towed from the scene by Mottman Towing.

Plummer’s vehicle sustained minor front end damage and was able to be driven from the scene.

Reynoldsville Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
