Kathleen M. Kitchen, 67, La Jose, died Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
She was born September 7, 1949, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Margaret “Peg” (Harper) and Paul Wehrle.
She was the wife of Larry Kitchen, who survives.
Kathy was among the first classes to attend and graduate from the Jefferson Co. Dubois Area Vocational Technical School of Practical Nursing. She worked as an LPN at Blose McGregor Nursing Home, The Adrian Hospital, and also as a private duty nurse.
She was a devout Christian who loved and served the Lord. She was a wonderful cook and baker. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, and crafting.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Michael Sherwood and wife Ann, daughter Alicia Sherwood, son Larry Kitchen Jr. and wife Melody, daughter Tammy Schultz and husband Terry, and daughter Christine Norton and husband Billy; thirteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother Dr. Thomas Wehrle and wife Patricia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by and infant son, Scott Sherwood, two sisters, Maureen Wehrle Boughner and Paula Wehrle Shaffer, and a brother Richard Wehrle.
As per Kathy’s wishes, she has donated her body to Humanity Gifts Registry.
A memorial service in her memory will be held at a later date.
