New Bethlehem’s Jamie Lefever Takes Over at Armstrong County Tourist Bureau

ARMSTRONG CO., Pa. (EYT) – A familiar New Bethlehem face can now be found in Armstrong County.

Jamie Lefever joined the Armstrong County Tourism Bureau as its new executive director, bringing along her experience gained as a former the Executive Director of the Clarion County Economic Development Corporation.

Considerable community experience was also gained as the immediate past president of the Clarion County Rotary Club and current vice president of the Redbank Valley Chamber of Commerce.

According to the Armstrong County Tourist Bureau Facebook page, Jamie feels strongly that she is prepared to turn Armstrong County into a tourist destination.

Lefever identifies her main responsibilities are to get people Armstrong County who will visit, stay in hotels, and help generate revenue.

“I also have to promote the County,” Lefever told the kittanningpaper.com. “We must ensure we let people know what we have here given them a reason to come here, promote things to do in the downtown area, restaurants and other things the area has to offer like the river. The area is very beautiful.”

Armstrong County is a large county with 664 square miles and many things to promote. One of the challenges facing Lefever is finding out all of the attractions.

“There are things to be offered here that maybe some people don’t know about, maybe even some things I don’t even know that I will learn about on my travels.  I’ll talk to businesses and ask about how we can promote businesses, see where they are struggling and what we can do to help.”

Just as tourism is a big part of the business in Clarion County, Lefever will bring her experience from promotion and as a member of the Clarion County Hotel Tax Committee.

Her new office is located at 125 Market Street in Kittanning.
