120th Annual Groundhog Picnic and Phil Phest Set for Saturday

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) – The 120th Annual Groundhog Picnic and Phil Phest is set for Saturday, September 8, at Gobbler’s Knobb.

The Annual Groundhog Picnic is an amazing piece of Groundhog Club and Punxsutawney history.

The event begins at 1:00 p.m. and Phil’s Elixir of Life Ceremony will begin at 4 p.m. A cornhole tournament, which is free to enter, will begin at 1 p.m. After the Elixir Ceremony, the finals for the tournament will begin.

Yard games will be held for those who wish to participate, and there will be big screen TV’s set up in the building to watch football games.

Tickets include live music, the cornhole tournament, yard games, meals, and snacks. There will also be complimentary beverages.

Lunch will be served from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. This year’s menu includes hot dogs, hamburgers, kielbasa, pasta salad, baked beans, watermelon, and dessert.

Dinner is served from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This year’s menu includes steak, baked potato, a vegetarian option, corn on the cob, macaroni salad, and dessert.

Tickets are $25 for the picnic or $80 for a Golf & Picnic Ticket Package. Visit www.groundhog.org for tickets and pick them at the door. Some tickets will also be available for purchase at the door.
