Police: Ohio Man Driving Too Fast For Conditions Crashes on Interstate 80

BROOKVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – Police say an Ohio man traveling too fast for conditions crashed his vehicle on Interstate 80 in Brookville on Wednesday evening.

According to police, around 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, Gerald R. Burmeister, 41, of Massillon, Ohio, was operating a 2007 Ford F-150, traveling east on Interstate 80 near the 77.7 mile marker.

Police say Burmeister was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a guide rail with the driver’s side fender. The vehicle then rotated clockwise and struck the guide rail again with the driver’s side rear of the vehicle.

Burmeister was then able to regain control of the vehicle and maneuver it onto the right shoulder of the highway.

Burmeister was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.

He was cited for speeding.
