KNOX TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say a woman was transported to Penn Highlands DuBois following a motorcycle crash on Markton Road in Knox Township Sunday afternoon.
According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, around 2:01 p.m. on Sunday, August 12, Tricia A. Rittenhouse, 44, of Knoxdale, was operating a 2009 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail traveling north on Markton Road just north of the intersection of West and East Bellport Roads.
Police say Rittenhouse became distracted and drove off the east side of the road where her bike collided with a ditch, causing it to overturn on its side.
Rittenhouse was wearing a helmet and suffered minor injuries. She was transported to Penn Highlands DuBois by Jefferson County EMS.
Her motorcycle sustained minor damage and was able to be driven from the scene.
Rittenhouse was cited for a traffic violation.
