Cause of Mahaffey House Fire Under Investigation

MAHAFFEY, Pa. (EYT) – The cause of a residential fire that occurred on Thursday morning in Mahaffey Borough is under investigation.

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, the fire occurred at 8:38 a.m. on Thursday, January 10, at a residence on East Main Street, Mahaffey Borough, Clearfield County.

Police say Chief Brian Sheered, of the Mahaffey Fire Department, requested assistance from a PA State Police Fire Marshal in determining the origin and cause of a fire that destroyed a two-story wood frame home.

The home was a complete loss, according to police.

The cause is still under investigation.

Damage is estimated at $25,000.00.

The victim is a 46-year-old Mahaffey woman.

No one was injured as a result of the fire, according to police.
