Driver Injured in Rollover Crash on Route 36

PERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say snow-covered roads led to a rollover crash that injured one man on Route 36 on Saturday afternoon.

According to police, around 12:26 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 26-year-old Zachary S. Wolbert, of Kent, Ohio was operating a 2001 Ford Ranger, traveling on State Route 36 just north of Sprankle Mills Road in Perry Township.

Police say the snow-covered roadway caused Wolbert to lose control as he attempted to negotiate a right-hand curve. Wolbert lost control and struck a guide rail along the southbound berm. The vehicle then rolled down over an embankment before coming to a final rest on its roof.

Wolbert suffered suspected minor injuries and was transported to Punxsutawney Area Hospital by Jefferson County EMS.

He was using a seatbelt.

The vehicle was towed by Rebuck’s Southside Towing.

Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene with traffic control.
