State Police Respond to Two-Vehicle Crash on Route 28

ROSE TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A two-vehicle crash occurred on Saturday afternoon on State Route 28, in Rose Township, Jefferson County.

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, 61-year-old Valerie M. Butler, of Sykesville, and 27-year-old Dakota Z. Roller, of Corsica, were involved in the collision.

Police say around 4:16 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Butler and 2007 Chevrolet Colorado pickup driven by Roller were traveling southbound on Route 28.

Roller attempted to pass Butler; however, Butler did not see the pickup and traveled into its lane of travel. Subsequently, her Malibu was sideswiped by it.

Valerie M. Butler and her passenger – 30-year-old Samantha M. Butler, of Sykesville – were not injured.

They were not using seat belts.

Roller was using a seat belt and was not injured.

Butler was charged with a traffic violation.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
