Punxsy Man Has Hearing Scheduled for Hospital Incident

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) – A Punxsutawney man accused of causing a drunken disturbance at a local hospital is due in court for a preliminary hearing.

According to court documents, Douglas Arthur Harkleroad, 68, of Punxsutawney, has a preliminary hearing scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 3 in District Judge Jacqueline Mizerock’s office.

He faces the following charges:

– Def Tres Actual Communication To, Misdemeanor 3

– Public Drunkenness And Similar Misconduct, Summary

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, the incident of disorderly conduct occurred at Punxsutawney Area Hospital at about 11:29 a.m., Saturday, January 27.

Punxsutawney-based State Police were contacted by Punxsutawney Area Hospital after Harkleroad allegedly caused a disturbance within the emergency room.

Upon arrival, the man was allegedly yelling and acting aggressively toward emergency room staff.

Harkleroad was medically discharged and removed from the hospital.
