Redbank Valley Trail Site of Family Ride & Poker Run on October 8

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – The Brookville Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting its second annual Family Ride & Poker Run on Sunday, October 8.

It will be held on the Redbank Valley Trail – the state’s 2014 trail of the year.

The family ride is a leisure ride along a seven-mile stretch of the Redbank Valley Trail. There will also be fun for the kids along the trail. It ends at Summerville with hot dogs and a drink.

The checkpoints are Depot Street Spur, Coder, Baxter, Moore’s Bridge, and Summerville.

Build your best poker hand by visiting the five checkpoints to the finish at the Summerville trailhead. Best hand takes the top prize.

Registration will be held from noon. to 2 p.m. at the Depot Street Spur, located off of White Street (across from Giant Eagle and below Brookville Lumber).

The cost of registration is $15 in advance and $20 the day of the event for adults 18 and over.

Registration entitles the participant to refreshments at the end of the ride, a backpack, and one hand of poker.

In order to receive your participant backpack, you must have your registration in by September 22.

A prize will be awarded for the top poker hand.

Anyone under 18 can participate for free, but they must register and be supervised by an adult.
