Reynoldsville Man Escapes Injury in I-80 Construction Zone Crash


ALLEGHENY TWP., Pa. (EYT) – State Police say a two-vehicle accident occurred early Thursday morning on Interstate 80, in Allegheny Township, Butler County.

According to Franklin-based State Police, 49-year-old Babatola A. Fadojutimi, of Lancaster, and 52-year-old William E Pearce, of Reynoldsville, were involved in the collision.

Police say around 6:22 a.m. on July 20, Pearce was traveling in a 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe west on I-80 in the left lane at the left lane merge point in a construction zone. A 2007 Nissan Quest, driven by Fadojutimi, was traveling west on I-80 in the left lane directly behind the Chevrolet Tahoe.

Pearce was slowing down for traffic, and Fadojutimi failed to stop his Nissan Quest and impacted the rear end of the Chevrolet Tahoe, according to police.

The Nissan came to a rest on its wheels in the median facing approximately west. The Chevrolet came to a rest in the right lane facing approximately west.

Fadojutimi and his passenger 38-year-old Oluwakemi O. Awosanmi, of Lancaster, were transported to Grove City Hospital for suspected minor injuries.

47-year-old Senjdi A. Many and two juvenile passengers in Fadojutimi’s vehicle – a six-year-old male and a two-year-old male – were also transported to Grove City Hospital for unknown injuries.

All occupants were using seat belts.

Pearce was not injured; he was using a seat belt.

Fadojutimi was charged with a traffic violation.

Clintonville Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
