Rossiter Woman Escapes Injury in Young Township Crash

policeYOUNG TWP., Pa. (EYT) – According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, a one-vehicle accident occurred Tuesday afternoon on Hillcrest Drive, in Young Township, Jefferson County.

Police say around 3:30 p.m., 80-year-old Barbara J. McConnaughey, of Rossiter, was entering a handicapped parking spot at Punxsutawney Area Hospital located on Hillcrest Drive, and her 2011 Honda CRV left the traffic-way. The vehicle jumped the curb, struck two signs, shrubbery, and impacted a brick wall at Punxsutawney Hospital, where it came to a final rest.

According to police, at the time of the crash, no adverse weather conditions existed.

Although McConnaughey was uninjured, she received precautionary medical treatment at Punxsutawney Hospital, police say.

Raybuck’s Southside Towing removed the vehicle from the scene.
