Sigel Woman Involved in Three-Vehicle Crash on Route 322

CLARION CO., Pa. (EYT) – A three-vehicle collision occurred on Route 322 on Thursday afternoon.

According to Clarion-based State Police, around 3:25 p.m. on Thursday, November 1, 20-year-old Alexis K. Thompson, of Sigel, was driving a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan, traveling on U.S. 322 just east of North Paint Boulevard, in Paint Township, Clarion County.

Police say Thompson approached a 2016 Chevrolet Trax, driven by 33-year-old Erica N. Conner, of Knox, which was stopped on U.S. 322 at a red light and failed to observe that Conner’s vehicle was stopped. Thompson braked at the last moment but was unable to avoid a collision and struck Conner’s vehicle from behind.

Following the initial impact, both vehicle’s were at a stop when a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by 21-year-old Lance M. Huffman, of Clarion, approached and failed to observe the vehicles stopped in the roadway.

Police say Huffman attempted to brake, skidding approximately 70 feet before striking the rear of Thompson’s vehicle. The impact caused Thompson’s vehicle to push Conner’s vehicle approximately five feet forward.

All three drivers were wearing seatbelts and were not injured.

Thompson and Huffman were charged with traffic violations.
