State Police Calls: Controlled Substance DUI, Retail Theft

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police responded to the following calls:

DUI in Punxsutawney Borough

Around 5:32 p.m. on February 15, police initiated a traffic stop on a 2003 Toyocar van container trailer operated by Chance Schalk, 33, of Punxsutawney, who had an active warrant for his arrest.

Police say further investigation then found that Schalk was driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

Charges are pending through District Court 54-3-01.

Theft in Canoe Township

Police say around 3:49 p.m. on February 12, an individual allegedly stole an item from the Jenni Mart store in Rossiter, Pa.

The investigation is ongoing.
