State Police Calls: Woman Charged in Jail Assault, Handgun Found

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) – The Pennsylvania State Police responded to the following incidents:

Assault at Jefferson County Jail

On August 14 around 6:50 a.m., Punxsutawney-based State Police responded to the Jefferson County Jail for a report of an assault involving two inmates.

Video surveillance was obtained and it was determined that a 26-year-old Punxsutawney woman punched a 29-year-old Corsica woman in the face twice with a closed fist.

Harassment charges were filed against the woman at District Court 54-3-03.

The woman’s name was not released.

Handgun Found in Warsaw Twp.

According to DuBois-based State Police, a semi-automatic pistol was found on July 25, 2018, around 7:30 p.m.

The gun was found near 3200 Moore Bridge Road in Warsaw Township, Jefferson County.
