Summerville Teen Injured in Crash


YOUNG TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Summerville teen was injured in a one-vehicle crash that occurred on Tuesday in Young Township, Jefferson County.

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, around 12:40 p.m. on September 19, 18-year-old Julia A. Hallman, of Punxsutawney, was traveling south on Beyer Avenue Extension when she lost control of her 2001 Suzuki Grand Vitara while negotiating a left turn and a deer entered the roadway. The Vitara traveled off the road, hit an embankment, and spun 180 degrees before coming to rest.

Hallman and a passenger in the back seat of the vehicle – 18-year-old Jeff Foltz, of Punxsutawney – were using seat belts and were not injured.

A passenger in Hallman’s vehicle – 19-year-old Daniel Jablonski, of Summerville, was not using a seat belt and hit his head on the windshield.

Hallman was charged with a traffic violation.

The vehicle was removed from the scene by Groundhog Towing.
