Suspicious Death Investigation Continues After Callensburg Woman’s Body Dumped in Butler County

OAKLAND TWP., Butler Co., Pa. (EYT) — State Police are trying to determine who is responsible for dumping a Callensburg woman’s body in a Butler County reservoir.

Butler County Coroner Bill Young said Kayla Ann Dunlap, 28, was found dead at Oneida Dam in Oakland Township around 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Her body was found by two people who were walking a dog near the dam.

Police are investigating the case as a suspicious death.

“It seems she was dumped there. Her purse was found about 300 yards down the road from where she was,” Young said.

Dunlap had “fresh wounds” on her face, according to police.

Young said it also appeared that there were needle marks on her arms; however, police aren’t ruling it an overdose death at this point.

An autopsy was performed Sunday. Dunlap’s cause of death is pending the return of toxicology reports from NMS Lab in Willow Grove, Pa.

Dunlap was one of ten defendants sentenced as part of the McIntyre meth ring.

She pleaded guilty April 5 to one count of possessing ephedrine and received a sentence of 90 days in jail plus six months probation.

Dunlap was released from the Clarion County Jail on July 24 and sent to an inpatient drug treatment facility as part of her sentencing.
