Sykesville Teen Charged After Burglary Suspect Found Hiding in Bathroom

SYKESVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — A Sykesville woman was recently charged with trying to help a suspected burglar hide from police.

According to DuBois-based State Police, Felicity Lucille Fye, 18, was arrested on Tuesday, June 20, after she allegedly lied to law enforcement officials about the whereabouts of James Michaud, who was wanted on burglary charges.

When they first interviewed Fye at 6 p.m. she said she had not seen Michaud since the day before. At 9:30 p.m., police returned to where Fye lived with her mother on Grant Street.

Fye said she did not know where Michaud was.

Police then received permission to search the residence and they found Michaud hiding in the bathroom. Michaud was arrested and charged with burglary and other offenses.

Fye was arraigned June 21 in District Judge Greg Bazylak’s office on a third-degree felony charge of hindering apprehension.

Michaud and Fye both have preliminary hearings scheduled for Friday, June 30.
