Teen Driver Crashes Into Utility Pole

BELL TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say a teen driver crashed into a utility pole after he lost traction on a slippery roadway in Bell Township on Monday afternoon.

According to police, the crash occurred around 2:03 p.m. on Willow Road near its intersection with Valley Road.

Police say a 2012 Honda CRV was traveling west on Willow Road when it lost traction and the driver, a 17-year-old male from Punxsutawney, attempted to brake, causing the vehicle to slide off the south side of the road where it struck a utility pole with its front end.

The driver was wearing a seatbelt, but the passenger, another 17-year-old male from Punxsutawney, was not.

No injuries were reported at the scene.

The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene by Brosius Towing.

Central Fire Department assisted at the scene with traffic control.
