Thomas A. Ferguson

Thomas FergusonThomas A. Ferguson, 81, Lapel, Indiana, passed away Friday, February 24, 2017, in St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital following a brief illness.

He was born September 30, 1935 in DuBois, Pennsylvania to Perry A. and Hattie (Dent) Ferguson.

Tom was graduated from DuBois High School in 1954 and was a U. S. Army infantry veteran and had served in Germany.

He retired in 2001 from O-I Brockway Glass in Lapel after 45 years of employment in maintanence.

Tom was a member of the Lapel American Legion Post 212; was an avid bowler who had bowled 35 consecutive years in the nationls; was inducted into the Anderson Bowler’s Hall of fame; served on the bowling association for many years; and made all of the trophies for the special bowlers leaguefor many years. He was member of the Anderson Fraternal order of Eagles Aerie 174.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Margaret “Peg” (Johnson); one daughter, Tammy Blake of Anderson; two grandsons, Christopher Blake of Anderson and Devon Yusnukis of Lapel; two brothers, Perry (wife, Bernie) Ferguson of Hermitage, PA and Ron (wife, Beverly) Ferguson of DuBois, PA; one brother-in-law Robert Johnson of Brockport, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at St Tobias Catholic Church in Brockway, Pa. Burial will be in St. Tobias Cemetery.
