Two Bronx Men Jailed After Leading Police on High-Speed Chase

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — Two New York state men are behind bars after a traffic stop early Monday morning led to a police chase that ended in the Brookville area.

According to DuBois-based State Police, Trooper Seth Hari stopped a 2014 Nissan Altima driven by 22-year-old Ibrhima Dukaray, of the Bronx, (pictured above) on Interstate 80 at mile marker 88.8 in the westbound lane.

The car was displaying a stolen registration plate, and after a brief contact with Dukaray, he fled the scene in the Altima, along with 21-year-old Alhaji D. Jatta, of the Bronx, (no photo available) who was a passenger in the car.

Trooper Hari pursued the Altima for about 10 miles before Dukaray lost control of the car as he attempted to leave the interstate at Exit 78. The car hit a road sign before overturning near the off-ramp.

Both men fled on foot and were later arrested after a brief search of local businesses, according to police.

The car was later determined to be stolen.

Both men were arraigned in District Judge David Inzana’s office.

Dukaray was charged with the following offenses:

– Receiving Stolen Property, Felony 3
– Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Officer, Felony 3
– DUI: Controlled Substance-Impaired Ability – First Offense, Misdemeanor
– Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Misdemeanor 2 (11 counts)
– Receiving Stolen Property, Misdemeanor 2 (11 counts)
– False Identification To Law Enforcement, Misdemeanor 3
– Driving W/O A License, Summary
– Disregard Traffic Lane (Single), Summary (11 counts)
– Turning Movements And Required Signals, Summary (13 counts)
– Driving at Safe Speed, Summary
– Careless Driving, Summary
– Reckless Driving, Summary
– Failure To Notify Police Of Accident/Damage To Vehicle, Summary
– Violate Hazard Regulation, Summary

Jatta faces the following charges:

– Receiving Stolen Property, Felony 3
– Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Officer, Felony 3
– Marijuana-Small Amount Personal Use, Misdemeanor
– Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor
– Receiving Stolen Property, Misdemeanor 2

They were lodged in the Jefferson County Jail after failing to post $500,000.00 bail each.

Preliminary hearings are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 18, in Inzana’s office.
