Two Face Assault Charges Following Domestic Incident at Brookville Bar

arrestedBROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – Two individuals are facing assault charges stemming from a domestic altercation that occurred at a bar in Brookville, Jefferson County.

According to a criminal complaint, around 9:00 p.m. on March 16, 2017, Officer Gallagher, of the Brookville Borough Police Department, was called to a bar in Brookville for a domestic assault.

The complaint states that when Officer Gallagher arrived at the bar, he was met by a known woman who stated that her daughter – 27-year-old Renae Kathleen Turner, of Brookville – was in the bar and did not want to leave. They went outside and engaged in an argument. According to witnesses, Turner struck the known woman in the face, and then Turner went outside.

Upon further investigation, Office Gallagher learned that Herald Simpson, of Brookville, was involved in the domestic incident. Video surveillance showed Simpson bouncing Turner’s head off his vehicle, according to the complaint.

The following charges were filed against both Simpson and Turner:

– Simple Assault
– Disorderly Conduct Engage In Fighting, Summary
– Public Drunkenness And Similar Misconduct, Summary

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on May 11 in front of District Judge Gregory M. Bazylak.

Both defendants were issued certified summons on March 23.
