Verna M. Robinson, 84, a former Brockway resident, currently of Keen Court Drive DuBois, PA, died on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Born on January 23, 1934, in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late William and Lucille Garthwaite Costen.
Verna was married to Lester E. Robinson and he preceded her in death on October 6, 2007. Retired, she had been employed at Brockway Glass as a packer until her retirement. Verna then went to work at I.U. 6 as a van driver or aid on the van until the Brockway School District took over those responsibilities.
She attended the Lighthouse Church in DuBois.
Verna was a member of the Eastern Star and was an avid bingo player. She also enjoyed playing cards and baking pies.
She is survived by two sons: James (Janet) Robinson of Bradford, PA and Jerry (Tammy) Robinson of DuBois; her twin sister Vivian (Ernest) Himes of Lewis Run, PA; four grandchildren: Sheri Campion, Lori Nuzzo, Lacey Montgomery, and Sarah Johnson. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she is also preceded in death by a sister Nancy Delio.
Calling hours will be on Sunday, June 24 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. also at the funeral home with Rev. Jim Whited officiating. Burial will follow in the Sugar Hill Cemetery.
