WEATHER ALERT: Dangerously Cold Wind Chills as Low as -30 Anticipated

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – A Wind Chill Warning remains in effect for Jefferson County and surrounding areas.

The National Weather Service of Pittsburgh issued the following Urgent Winter Weather Message at 4:06 a.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2019:

…WIND CHILL WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST FRIDAY…

* WHAT…Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 30 below expected.

* WHEN…Until 7 AM EST Friday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…The cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 15 minutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A Wind Chill Warning means the combination of very cold air and the wind will create dangerously low wind chill values. Frostbite can occur quickly and even hypothermia or death if precautions are not taken.
