WEATHER ALERT: Winter Weather Advisory Remains in Effect for Jefferson County

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Jefferson County and surrounding areas.

The National Weather Service of Pittsburgh issued the following Urgent Winter Weather Message at 2:50 a.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2017:

…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM THIS MORNING TO 1 PM EST WEDNESDAY…

* WHAT…Lake effect snow expected. Plan on slippery road conditions, including during the morning commute on Wednesday. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches, with localized amounts up to 8 inches, are expected.

* WHERE…Mercer and Jefferson Counties.

* WHEN…From 7 AM this morning to 1 PM EST Wednesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Be prepared for reduced visibilities at times.

A Winter Weather Advisory for lake effect snow means lake effect snow is forecast that will make travel difficult in some areas. Use caution when traveling. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
