PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) – A woman is facing over 50 counts of harassment and witness intimidation after allegedly making repeated threatening calls to a known victim.

Court documents indicate that the Punxsutawney Borough Police Department filed the following criminal charges against 36-year-old Jasmine Rae Benghauser of Worthington, Pa., on December 4:

According to a criminal complaint, on Monday, December 3, a known female reported that Jasmine Benghauser had been calling her residence during the early morning and all hours of the day.

The victim provided the police with two copies of tapes from her answering machine that contained over 50 minutes of voice messages that Benghauser had left.

According to the complaint, the victim stated Benghauser began calling the residence on August 29, 2018, at 3:04 p.m. and the calls continued through 1:53 a.m. on November 21.

Officer Andrekovich, of the Punxsutawney Borough Police Department, listened to the tapes and noted that the recordings clearly indicated it was Benghauser on the answering machine, the complaint indicates.

The complaint also states that Benghauser used obscene language and made threats toward the victim and her witness and mentioned information about a prior case of harassment from February 25, 2018.

Based on the investigation, charges were filed in Magisterial District Judge Jacqueline J. Mizerock’s office on Tuesday, December 4, and a first-class summons was issued.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 18, with Judge Mizerock presiding.
