BREAKING NEWS: Woman Killed After Crashing Vehicle into House in Burnside Township

CLEARFIELD CO., Pa. (EYT) – A 57-year-old woman was fatally injured in an early Sunday morning crash on Route 219 in Burnside Township.

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, around 1:43 a.m. on Sunday, November 11, 57-year-old Penny L. Johnston, of Fairmount City, was traveling south on Patchin Highway (State Route 219), south of Solley Road, in Burnside Township, Clearfield County.

Johnston’s 2015 KIA Sorento was traveling around 45 mph when it traveled off the west shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle then traveled over an embankment and approximately 244 feet through a yard before striking a residence.

Johnston was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Clearfield County coroner.

She was using a seat belt.

She was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

The residence was unoccupied during the time of the crash.

State police were assisted at the scene by Clearfield EMS, Cherry Tree Volunteer Fire Department, Scott’s Auto Towing, and the Clearfield County Coroner.
