12-Year-Old Child Hit by Car in Reynoldsville Borough

REYNOLDSVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – A 12-year-old pedestrian was struck by a car while crossing the street at a crosswalk in Reynoldsville Borough on Monday morning.

According to DuBois-based State Police, the accident happened around 6:57 a.m. on September 27, on East Main Street, at its intersection with South 10th Street, in Reynoldsville Borough, Jefferson County.

Police say 49-year-old Denette A. Jones, of Reynoldsville, was operating a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado traveling north on 10th Street and making a right turn onto East Main Street when she failed to yield to and struck a pedestrian, identified as a 12-year-old female from Reynoldsville, who was in the crosswalk.

The juvenile pedestrian suffered injuries of unknown severity and was transported to Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital by Jefferson County EMS.

Jones was using a seat belt and was not injured.

She was cited for a right-of-way pedestrian crosswalk violation.
