Johanna M. Veltri, age 100 of Broad Street Brockway, Pa; died on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Born in Curwensville, Pa; on February 15, 1915 she was the daughter of the late Frank and Hedwiga Kubista Stricek. She was married to Victor Veltri and he preceded her in death on March 3, 2007. Johanna was a homemaker. She was a member at St. Tobias Church in Brockway. She also was a member of the Rosary Society and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association. She enjoyed listening to Judge Judy and the news.
Johanna is survived by a son Gregory (Sandy Fultz) Veltri of Brockway; a brother John Stricek of Curwensville; two granddaughters Renee and Brittany Veltri and four great grandchildren Emily, Rylan, Marley and Lucy. In addition to her parents and her husband she is preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters. Calling hours will be on Friday, March 27 from 6-8 P.M. at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 28 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Tobias Church with Msgr. Charles Kaza presiding. Burial will follow in St. Tobias Cemetery. A Vigil Service will be held on Friday evening at 7:45 P.M. at the funeral home.
