Russell R. Knarr

Russell R. Knarr, 67, of Punxsutawney, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015, at Penn Highlands Brookville.

Born February 23, 1948, in Punxsutawney, he was the son of Geneva Buhite Knarr of Reynoldsville and the late Ralph R. Knarr.

On May 25, 2013, he married Nancy J. Phillips Knarr of Punxsutawney, who survives.

Russell was a 1966 graduate of the Punxsutawney Area High School. He was a part-time radon home inspector, as well as a retired employee of Kohlhepp’s True Value in DuBois.

He was a member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church of Punxsutawney, where he served as an elder and as a member of the worship team. Russell was a member of the Gold Wing Riders Association and the Christian Motorcycle Association.

Russell is survived by two daughters, Paula Schaffer and husband John of Greencastle, Pa. and Pamela Roeder of Smethport; two sons, Russell Knarr and wife Kristen of DuBois and Todd Phillips and wife Jamie of Gifford, Pa.; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father; his first wife, Gertrude P. Cornman Knarr; and a brother, Kermit Knarr.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at the Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home in Reynoldsville.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 28, 2015, at Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, Punxsutawney, with the Rev. Kenneth Tack officiating.

Interment will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park in Reynoldsville.
