Frank Anthony Murdock, 85 of Sykesville, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016, at home.
He was born June 7, 1930, in Sykesville, a son of the late Anthony and Rose (Fratto) Murdock.
Frank was a US Army Veteran, having served during the Korean War in Japan. On July 2, 1960, Frank married Marlene Ann (Kutchmark) Murdock, she survives in Sykesville.
Frank was Roman Catholic and a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. He was a skilled carpenter, having worked for Bury Bee Builders until retirement. He enjoyed working in his woodshop, hunting, looking for wildlife and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by two daughters Lynn (John) Klaiber of Sykesville and Bonnie Murdock of Rhode Island; a son, John Murdock of Rhode Island; six grandchildren: Rose Klaiber and fiancé Dustin James and Dennis Klaiber all of Sykesville, Erin (Brian) DiNoble, Jacqueline Reid and Lydia Murdock all of Rhode Island and three great-grandchildren.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Jerome and Joseph Murdock and sister: Marie Parente.
There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of the Leo Nedza Funeral Home of Sykesville.
Family invites everyone to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 10 AM at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Sykesville with Fr. Richard Tomasone as celebrant.
Following the Mass Military Honors will be accorded by the Jefferson County Veterans Honor Guard at the church. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers family suggest donations to either Sykesville Ambulance or Sykesville Firemen’s.
