2015 Old Home Week Firemen’s Parade Set for June 27

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) – The 2015 Old Home Week Firemen’s Parade is set for Saturday, June 27, in downtown Punxsutawney.

Mahoning Street will be closed for the parade starting around 3:15 p.m. and the parade will start at 4:00 p.m.

There will be four divisions in this year’s parade. Each division will be lead through the parade by one of the parade sponsors and a member company of the Fire Department.

Participants are asked to arrive at the Punxsy Plaza on West Mahoning Street at 1:00 p.m.

The prize list for this year’s parade is as follows:

Bands, Floats, Marching Unit, and Other Units

Senior Bands (High School) – 1st place $400.00, 2nd place $350.00, and 3rd place $250.00
– Transportation reimbursement – 30 members, up to $400.00

Senior Bands (All Styles) – 1st place $300.00 and 2nd place $200.00
– Transportation reimbursement – 20 members, up to $200.00

Senior Baton Twirling Unit (30 or more members)- 1st place $350.00 and 2nd place $250.00
– Transportation reimbursement – 30 members, up to $200.00

Junior Baton Twirling Unit (30 or more members) – 1st place $250.00 and 2nd place $250.00
– Transportation reimbursement – 30 members, up to $200.00

Performance Unit – 1st place $200.00 and 2nd place $150.00
Senior Drill Team – 1st place $250.00 and 2nd place $200.00
Junior Drill Team – 1st place $200.00 and 2nd place $150.00
Fife & Drum Corps – 1st place $250.00 and 2nd place $200.00
Drum & Bugle Corps – 1st place $250.00 and 2nd place $200.00
Non-Commercial Float – 1st place $175.00, 2nd place $150.00, and 3rd place $100.00
Commercial Float – 1st place $175.00, 2nd place $150.00, and 3rd place $100.00
Walking Unit – 1st place $100.00 and 2nd place $50.00

Fire, Rescue, and E.M.S. Units
Trophies will be awarded for places listed only

Best Equipped and Appearing Pumper – 1750 gpm or more – 1st place
Best Equipped and Appearing Pumper – 1250 gpm to 1500 gpm – 1st and 2nd places
Best Equipped and Appearing Pumper – under 1250 gpm – 1st and 2nd places
Best Equipped and Appearing Rescue – 1st and 2nd places
Best Equipped and Appearing Aerial – 1st place
Best Equipped and Appearing Tanker – (Any Size) 1st and 2nd places
Best Equipped and Appearing Mini Pumper – 1st and 2nd places
Best Equipped and Appearing E.M.S. Unit – (At least B.L.S. equipped) 1st place
Best Equipped and Appearing Brush Truck – 1st and 2nd places
Fire, Rescue, or E.M.S. Unit Traveling Farthest Distance
Oldest Motorized Fire Apparatus
Judge’s Choice Award
